TitleHuntingdon High Street: the journey of the world's largest lorry travelling north through the town.
DescriptionThe Hunts Post of the 15th February 1934 carried the following report "World's Largest Lorry. This great monster of the road reputed to be the largest lorry in the world carrying a load of seventy five tons, passed through Godmanchester and Huntingdon on Tuesday morming on the way from Ipswich to Scunthorpe. At the moment the above picture was taken [the glass plate negative of the photograph in the newspaper has not survived, but it is similar to WH9/31] the lorry was passing the Hunts Post office in the High Street, Huntingdon. The width of the road was such that all traffic was held up whilst the monster under police escort passed through the narrow street of the town"
