TitleHuntingdon High Street resurfacing 1925.
DescriptionIn August 1925 the High Street in Huntingdon was re-surfaced with wooden block paving. Eleven of the surviving glass plates taken by Ernest Whitney are listed below. The Hunts Post of the 20th August 1925 carried a photograph of the men at work (not one of the surviving glass plates) captioned "Buzzing Road Breakers at Huntingdon. The instruments that are shaking the nerves of Huntingdon people. The mechanical diggers in operation as part of the process of re-making the High Street. A bed of concrete is being laid to carry the wood paving."
