TitleSir Robert Baden Powell and Huntingdon Scouts
DescriptionHuntingdon Scouts on parade on Market Hill., Huntingdon, to mark the visit of Sir Robert Baden Powell, who can be seen leaving the Town Hall. Baden Powell visited Huntingdon in 1912 and in 1921. This image may date from 1921, judging by the style of the ladies' dresses, and also for the fact the entrance to Murkett's Brothers garage can be seen in the background. This had been the Fountain Hotel, which closed in 1912.
There are market stalls in front of the High Street shops andthe buildings have been decorated with flags. The blind of the boot and shoe warehouse of Freeman, Hardy & Willis at 110 High Street can also be seen on the left of the image.
