TitleThree black and white photographic prints of plan of whole parish of Fen Ditton on three sheets comprising: 1. Part 1: main western part of parish from Coldhams Brook on south to Green End, including principal settlement and streets, Cambridge-Newmarket Road, etc., with table of reference to tenants of house, closes, ozier-holts, etc. 24 x 34.5 inches. 2. Part 2: open field areas of eastern projection of parish along Fleam Dyke road to Quy Water, and southern part of Low Fen, with table of reference. 26 x 31 inches (Original badly damaged). 3. Parts 3 and 4, comprising: Part 3: main part of Low Fen projecting between Horningsea and Stow-cum-Quy. Part 4: almost detached riverside area of parish from Green End to north, including Biggin Abbey. Also includes table continued from sheet 2 and summary terrier of whole parish in two parts. 31 x 36.5 inches.
DescriptionThe whole of the plan is somewhat badly damaged and many names illegible. Otherwise fields, furlongs and acreages are shown in fine detail. There is a simple cartouche on each sheet. Surveyor: unnamed. Scale: 1 inch to 16.5 poles (about 20 inches to 1 mile). Date: about 1730 [tenants include Sir Roger Jenyns (d.1740). Closer dating is possible from research of manorial court books (132/M26-7) and parish registers]
