Title12 Letters from George Deane Sismey Trinity College and Offord.
DescriptionTo his brother Tom at Clerk's Office, King's Lynn. Interesting sequence (including 4 letters from his mother) Tom, the younger brother was apparently studying to become a solicitor, and in lodgings at Mr. Wilson's-an arrangement which apparently gave him ample oppertunity to indulge his sociable instincts in parties etc. George was at somewhat of a loose end at Trinity College hesitating between reading for a fellowship or entering the bar in London. He gives his brother college news, including baiting the Dons by instituting a 'Society for Christianity among the Dons' mainly used for checking their attendance at worship, and much to their annoyance. The local Huntingdon gossip figures in both his brother's and his mother's letters.
