DescriptionReciting that on the 22nd December, 1877, Edward, 1st Lord De Ramsey, mortgaged 265ac. 3r. 25p. -parts of the Mere farm and Morris's farm -in Benwick, Isle of Ely, for £9,000, and that by his will and codicils he made it known that he had borrowed the £9,000 for his elder son and that this son should repay the mortgage. Now, in consideration of an agreement with the 2nd Lord De Ramsey and for £3,500, part of the £9,000, paid out of the personal estate of the late 1st Lord De Ramsey, Preston Karslake of 4 Regent Street, in the P. of St. James, Westminster, Middlesex, Esq., and John James of 13 Suffolk Street, Pall Mall East, Middlesex, mortgagees, release Rt. Hon. Mary Julia, Dowager Baroness De Ramsey and Rt. Hon. William Henry, 2nd. Baron De Ramsey, executrix and executor of the 1st Baron's will, and the estates of the 1st Baron (other than the parts comprised in the mortgage) from all liability arising from the Mortgage. (With a proviso that the payment of the £3,500 from the 1st Baron's personal estate does not alter the liability of the 2nd Baron under the will and codicils to repay the whole sum of £9,000 to the estate of the testator.)
