TitleThomas Dodds, keeper of the Castle, reports that it and the chamber over the Shire House are in need of repair; two JPs to view the buildings and order repairs, and the treasurer to pay such sums as they shall order. The alehouse of Jeremy Chambers of Soham is to be suppressed; the constables and churchwardens of the parish are to levy 20s distress from his goods for keeping the alehouse without licence, for the use of the poor, selling the goods if he does not pay the money, and failing that he is to be whipped. The churchwardens and overseers of Soham to pay 18d a week to Jeremy Chambers of Soham and wages and impotent person.
