DescriptionTitle. Royston and Hitchin Railway. Proposed extension of the Royston and Hitchin railway, (county Hertfordshire) with a branch to Arlesey (county Bedfordshire), leaving the existing line between Hitchin and Royston at Bygrave, and a deviation at Hitchin (county Hertfordshire). Passing through the following parishes: Bassingbourn, Melbourn, Meldreth, Shepreth, Foxton, Barrington, Haslingfield, Harston, Hauxton, Trumpington, St.Andrew the Less, Cambridge (all in county Cambridgeshire) Comprising: Plan and section: Horizontal 6 chains (132 yards) to 1 inch. Vertical 60 feet to 1 inch. Cross section: 5 chains (110 yards) to 1 inch. 40 feet to 1 inch. Act 11-12 Victoria cap. CXIX (1848). (built to Shepreth only?)
