TitleEastern Counties Railway, Extension from Ely to Peterborough (Whittlesey).
DescriptionConstruction of an extension of the Eastern Counties Line from Ely to join the 'Parliamentary line to Peterborough' at a point south of Whittlesey town. (This is only part of a scheme to construct a railway from the Northern and Eastern Railway at Newport, by Cambridge and Ely with extensions to Brandon and Peterborough.) Passing through the following parishes: Ely Trinity and St. Mary, Downham, Manea, Coveney, Doddington, Whittlesey St. Mary and St. Andrew, all in county Cambridgeshire. Comprising: Plans and sections: 21 sheets each 21" x 30". (Some sheets badley damaged). Scales: Section: Horizontal 5 chains (110yards) to 1 inch. Vertical: 40 feet to 1 inch. Act 7-8 Victoria ch. LXII (1844). No date stated but Royal Assent given on 4 July 1844. (see also 7-8 c.LXII) (Not endorsed by Clerk of the Peace. This plan is as built instead of Q/RUm11 railway 2.)
