TitleSt Ives Michaelmas Fair opening ceremony.
DescriptionChildren are awaiting the distribution of coins at the opening ceremony. The Hunts Post of the 11th October 1934 carried this photograph with the caption "For the first time in memory, St Ives Michaelmas Fair was officially proclaimed by the Mayor (Councillor Turner) on Monday afternoon. He is reading the charter which gave the privilege of holding the Fair more than seven hundred years ago. The proclamation was witnessed by an interested crowd of young and old."
