TitleErmine Street, Huntingdon, showing Arthur Maddison's house and studio
DescriptionArthur Maddison moved his photographic business to 74-75 Ermine Street in 1874, and constructed his studio at the rear of the property over the next few years. In this image the front of the house can be seen, with a wooden booth fronting the street and what appears to be an advertising board by the front door of the house at no. 74.
Part of the Rose & Crown public house, owned by Jenkins & Jones of the Falcon Brewery, Huntingdon, can be seen on the right. This pub closed in 1929, and is now a private house called "The Lanterns". In the distance the inn sign of the White Horse Inn can just be seen. This building has been demolished.
