DescriptionGroup of cyclists (some in fancy dress) with decorated bicycles. Numerous onlookers are standing behind them. This is a print of the glass plate WH1/239B. Ernest Whitney has captioned this DC print with the names some of the participants . A Miss Sarll is on the extreme left (wearing a tartan sash) and another young Miss Sarll is the small girl in the middle of the group. Behind her is a Mr White (the man wearing the boater ) and a Mr Cowan is third from the right in the pierrot costume. "Fancy dress & cycle parade over 60 years ago" is written at the bottom of the print. This photograph has been described as a Boer War celebration and is dated to 1902 in David Cozens "Huntingdon a Pictorial History" but according to the Maddison and Hinde order book it dates from 1897 and is described as a Jubilee celebration
