TitleHuntingdon, George Street after alteration.
DescriptionA similar view to DC133, but now the road has been widened with the removal of the garages at the George Hotel. The view is taken closer to the junction, and the front of the George Hall can be seen on the left, with Sketchely's shop, Yarnold's Garage and the Walden Cafe on the right.
The Hunts Post of the 4th February 1937 contains this photograph and DC133, with the following description, "These two pictures of George Street, Huntingdon, facing east, give a clear indication of the improved effect by the demolition of the old buildings attached to the George Hotel and the widening of the street. This is only one of the many improvements to be carried out in the county. People who left Huntingdon some years back will find a great difference in the town's face if they return in a year or so. There must be many more changes in the near future to cope with the ever increasing volume of traffic".
