TitleAdvertisement card of Arthur Maddison, Portrait Painter and Photographer
DescriptionArthur Maddison was keen to promote his royal connections, and this advert relates that he has a number of letters from the Prince and Princess of Wales. He wants the public to know "Mr Maddison is the only photographer in the county of Huntingdon who has been honoured with commands...to produce portraits of their Royal Highnesses...Any other photographer in the said county using the Prince of Wales feathers or their Royal Highnesses names...do so with the unprincipled intention of deceiving and imposing on the public". The royal letters could be inspected at the premises of Mr Bradbury, who is listed as a cabinet maker in High Street Huntingdon in the 1877 trade directory
