The register begins at fo.3 with the appointment of John Peacock as parish register by Dudley Pope J.P. (22 May 1654); a few earlier BAPTISMS, 1642 - 1654, are recorded inside the front cover.
Also noted are memoranda of bonds (fo.1), of the flight of a stag and a journey by Mr. Pope (fo.2), of church tithes and obventions (fo.2v), 'King Oliver', 'King Cromwell' (fo.3), copy of will of Margaret Wiseman establishing charity, 1579 (fo.10v), collections on briefs (fo.11v) partly copied from inside back cover. Entries for children of Andrew Haslop 1663, 1666 and 1668 give day and time of birth. [CW 1698 Andrew Haslop, bricklayer.]
