Simon Grene to John Russell, William Wympole, senr., John Mayll, William Lovell, John Essex, John Russell, junr., William Wympole, junr., and John Lovell, all of Cottenham on condition that after his decease, the trustees should: (a) keep and observe a yearly obit for his soul and the souls of his parents in the parish church of Cottenham (b) pay annually in alms : 4d. to parish elder; 2d. to parish clerk; 1d. to bell official; 4d. to chantry chaplain; 1d. each to the 24 most needy men of Cottenham, at the discretion of the trustees; 4d. to the bead-roll (c) pay annually 34s. to seven men of Cottenham to be used to bear and support all common expenses imposed on the town of Cottenham; for improvement of the Stone Causeway and Smithy Fen Causeway; for the support and maintenance of the parish church; for payment of 10ths and 15ths, taxes or tallages.
