Copy of letter on first page concerning payment of poor relief to Andrew Johnson and his wife in Ely Trinity parish, 1807;
Copy of affidavit by William Prior of St. Clement's parish, after his marriage to Sophia King of St. Peter's parish, claiming legal settlement in the parish of St. Mary the Less having served his apprenticeship there with William Gowler, baker, 1807;
Newspaper extract concerning overseer's right to refuse payment of out relief as an alternative to residence in a workhouse, 1814;
Memorandum that William Hunt agreed with Mr. Huddlestone of St. Botolph's parish to take the Allix boy for one year, paying him £3 at the end of it, 'and also to give him 4d or 6d of a Sunday to spend', 18 March 1806;
18s 6d paid to St. Edward's parish as 'part of the hire of a man for the Army of Defence' (total cost £20 11s 2d), January 1806;
Paid 18 guineas for renewal of lease on workhouse, January 1811;
Payments to the wives and families of men 'serving as Privates on permanent duty in the first Cambridgeshire Regiment of Local Militia', May - June 1811. List gives full names of soldiers and wives. All Privates except Corporal James Smee. One deserter, John Briggs, later apprehended.
