The Pickerell Inn and White Horse Inn noted 1791.
Memoranda include: 'At a Parish Meeting held this day .... it is agreed .... to renew with the Corporation for the Parish Estates on the terms offerred by the said Corporation ....', 29 October 1792;
Adjourned meeting to consider erection of new workhouse agreed 'that the late officers do sign the Leases from the Corporation made in consequence of a bargain to Mr. Laxton .... and take his money .. in aid of payment to the Workmen for building the new Workhouse ....' and 'that the present Officers do demand and take measures to obtain the old Corporation Lease now in the hands of Mr. Banks ... and restore the same to Mr. Laxton to complete his Title and in order to put a stop to all further Litigation', 21 April 1795;
Declaration that the lease (as above) was recovered from William Banks and given to William Laxton, churchwarden, 11 May 1795;.
Recital of past transactions concerning workhouse, and decision to obtain new lease for forty years, 18 May 1795.
