TitleWRAY'S CHARITY. Volume of minutes and copy deeds
DescriptionContaining: Minutes of Wray's Charity concerning proposed passage through to Crown alehouse in Green Street and conveyance to new trustees, June, August 1760. Copy of will of Henry Wray, proved 1629. Rental of Wray's estate in Cambridge and Fen Ditton, 26 March 1745. Copy bond dated 26 March 1721 of University to pay £14 per year for use of parish poor in compensation for pulling down charity messuage to enlarge its library. Clause from will of John Austen referring to his bequest of Paradise Close in Grantchester, profits to benefit parish poor (will proved 1645). Copy deed dated 5 May 1563 of Thomas Pecocke to grant £1 annual rent charge from messuage or inn called The Crane in Shoemaker Row to churchwardens, mainly for distribution to parish poor. (In Latin and English). Volume rebound c.1900 (early 19th century).
