TitleCarpenter's day book
DescriptionDetailing work carried out by carpenters employed on the Bernard Sparrow estates at Brampton and elsewhere in the county. For each day the name of the labourer and a description of the work is entered (e.g. "preparing woodwork for Bury pump", "school fences", "sawing stuff for Grafham pound", "slating and painting windows at Park Farm House" etc).
Labourers named include Samuel Wormsley, Robert Wormsley, Daniel Ainsworth, Henry Ellington, Mark Burton, William Bland, John Hughes, William Dean, Robert Allen and John North. Some are referred to by surname only, e.g. "Terre, Dean & boy", "Linton & son".
