DescriptionNotes made by volunteers on the contents of this volume: Many military entries, relating in particular to the setting up of the Light Horse Volunteers. The Duke spent a great deal of time in May-Aug travelling from London to Aldershot for training exercises. Attended major military review in London with the Volunteers in June. Applied to join the 5th D.G. [Dragoon Guards?] and dined at Buckingham Palace in March. References to the Oakley Hunt and the death of his wife's grandmother. He was photographed on 20th July.
