TitleLetter to Sir Robert Bernard, from his agent, John Horne Tooke, Stevenage [Herts]
DescriptionLast night's meeting at the Globe lasted from seven until twelve and was very disagreeable. Sir Robert may remember their meeting there ten years ago, when Mr Sparrow and Sir William Wake were first nominated and Tooke had a hard battle for them. The same 'dirty set' where there last night - Attorney Reynolds, Attorney Frost, Attorney Phillips and others - but he was most afflicted when he saw Sparrow and Wake take the same line. There was eventually a unanimous resolution to support Colhoun as the candidate, provided he sign a certain test. [Addressed to Sir Robert at Brampton].
