Title | Letter to Millicent Sparrow from her uncle, Lord William Bentinck, London |
Description | The prosecution seems unlikely to succeed. Today's evidence demonstrated the Neopolitan charges against the Queen. Witnesses deny that the Queen was indecently dressed at a masque. Cravan agreed that he had advised the Queen to be cautious in her conduct towards Bergami because of the presence of an English spy. All witnesses agree that there has been no improper familiarity between Bergami and the Queen. People's opinions are greatly shaken. All this comes from lack of great independent councils. |
