TitleLetter from from William Tait of Wakefield [Yorks] to the Duke of Manchester
DescriptionObliged at his Grace's offering to send an idea about Melchisedech (Melchizedek). In debt to his Grace for "...." and "things hoped for". References "the smoking furnace burning lamp" in one and the scene on the Mount of Transfiguration in the other has been instructive to him. Believe it is the "bounden duty" of everyone who loves the Lord to .... which is the only antedote to tractarianism which will swallow up vital religion. States his Grace will confer a great obligation by fulfilling his kind promise.
Tait mentions his own work will not be published until April and asks if his Grace's copy should be sent to the Athenaeum.
