DescriptionAppointments of Churchwardens, (originally one appointed from the street and another for the slepe), Overseers and highway Surveyors (overseers) and accounts of same. Also appointments of school teachers to teach 5-6 Poor boys of the parish 1711, 1738-9, and of a master of the Workhouse on 10 Dec 1740. Various Agreements, copy agreements etc inc; 31 Dec 1630 Agreement (copy) the parishioners agree to accept sum from Thos Carter in settlement of what they were bequeathed under the will of his mother-in-law Elen Myles wid. 2 Mar 1630 Memorandum of Agreement (copy) that towns people agree to pay Thomas Heaton, Habberdasher of St. Ives, out of town stock if he is further called to account for administering the estate of Edw. Bradley deceased of St. Ives. 16 Jun 1685 Quitclaim of Tobias Morris Bellfounder of Stamford of any suit he might have had against Thos Foot Innholder and Jn Payne Baker both churchwardens of St. Ives. Witnesses Edw Wallis & Hen Peacock. 25 Oct 1715 Memorandum of Agreement between the Feoffees of the town lands and the inhabitants concerning payment of rent for property. 25 Mar 1725 Memorandum of Agreement between the churchwardens & Vestry concerning, withholding part of the money agreed to be paid to Henry Penn Bellfounder for casting and tuning 8 new bells, since he had not performed all the work. The vestry agrees to pay the cost of any suit levied against the churchwardens by Penn. (1725 & 1729 a special rate levied to pay the costs of this suit) 1740 Various Memoranda that all burials to take place before sunset. 10 Aug 1678 Extract of the will of Dr. Robt Wilde who left property to the parish & copy surrender of some of this property 19 Jul 1692. Account of settlement certificates of several people who came to the Township of St. Ives c.1697 & 1712. Lists of widows and children who were the recipients of Mr. Langley's charity 1716, 1718-20. Inventory of church books and vestments 1633. Signature of Oliver Cromwell on the appointment of churchwardens for 22 Apr 1633 (later cut out) & 7 Apr 1634.
