Descriptioni) John Houghton Esq and Thomas Barker gent churchwardens of St. Ives and John Lownds Dealer in Earthenware & Joseph Child Boatwright Overseers of St. Ives. ii) Henry Kennedy Woolcomber of St. Ives. Recitials meeting 29 Feb 1792 at which it was decided to put the poor of the parish to Farm for 3 yrs from 6 May 1792, and that Henry Kennedy was to manage and maintain the workhouse and look after the poor. i) To pay the rent of the workhouse keep it in good repair and out of the rates pay ii) £370 p.a. (ie £30 16s 8d per month) & provide all the beds, bedding untensils and other equipment required. ii) To cloth two paupers, he agrees to receive all paupers sent to the workhouse, by the appropriate orders but if they prove to be not residents of St.Ives then he is to receive 2s pa for their maintenance ii) To provide the poor with food, drink, washing etc including Bread made of wheaten flour, hot meat dinners 3 times per week and 3 meals a day. ii) To provide a proper surgeon, apothecary or midwife for any pauper requiring them. ii) To maintain any poor persons of St. Ives not resident in the workhouse who are incapable of providing for themselves due to illness. ii) To pay for the decent burial in the church-yard of any pauper dying in the workhouse etc. ii) To provide fuel for the poor. ii) To set the poor to work and keep the profits of their labour.
