TitleHuntingdon County Hospital
DescriptionInstituted by public subscription in 1789, the Huntingdonshire Infirmary and Dispensary was built overlooking Mill Common in Huntingdon, and in 1831 was extended to help assist out-patients. In 1854 it became Huntingdon County Hospital and a new building was constructed on a site near Huntingdon railway station. The County Hospital was closed in 1983 and replaced by Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The records were numbered some years ago using 1039/HOSP reference numbers (1039 being the accession number for the bulk of the records). Since then further accruals have been received (accessions 2843, 3883, 3891 and 4326). Summaries of these accessions are given below. It is hoped that a full list may be completed in the near future.
