DescriptionRefers to a letter from the Earl on behalf of Serjeant John Peacock. Under the Act, 10 Geo IV cap. 10, no serjeant appointed to that rank after 13th April, 1829, can receive a higher pension that 5d a day, and the Lord and other Commissioners of the Hospital have no authority to grant more than that to the man in question because he only became a serjeant on 2nd February, 1831.
