TitleLetter; Lord Morley, Under Secretary for War, London, to 7th Earl of Sandwich.
DescriptionThe letter from the Earl's Adjutant confirms the Earl's view of what would probably be the effect of moving the Hunts Regiment out of the County. Will read the letter to the committee. There have been 25 cases to investigate and they have taken longer than expected. Thanks Lord Sandwich for his congratulations on the end of the Transvaal War. Only wishes that the terms accepted now had been offered and accepted before the fighting began. Colley paid for his rashness, but his action made the negotiations far more difficult than they should have been.
