DescriptionThe Corporation is involved in debts to the amount of nearly £2,000. At a recent Council meeting it was suggested that the money might be raised by a mortgage of the Commons. Feels that such a measure would produce such discontent amongst the burgesses as would tend to alienate them from "the Family with which they have been so long and faithfully connected".
