DescriptionTwo of the proposed directors have been to discuss the proposed Ouse Navigation Co. They are anxious to be represented in this district by someone of influence and business ability. Knowing the great interest in the improvement of the river shown by Lord Sandwich, as Chairman of the County Council, suggested that he should be approached with a view to becoming a director of the Company.
