A public meeting to consider the matter further is to be held at Bedford next Thursday. The engineer involved Mr. Cooper, is a respectable and comptent man. The question of buying existing rights must be examined carefully. The scheme of reopening the Navigation could be made to be a profitable concern for investors and a great benefit to the district.
