TitleDeposition: John Leighton apprentice to William Langford Cave, shoemaker, Godmanchester. Leighton had absconded in 1840. Accorsting his late master in the street in 1844 he enquired about a charge of stealing £8. 5. 6d. from a chest the Sunday before he ran away - whereupon Cave applied for a warrant.
