TitleDeposition: Michaelmas Sessions: Sheep stealing case. Joseph Allpress accused by Samuel Brown, Chatteris, farmer, of stealing three ewes and one wether. A search of Allpress's house by Robert See, Somersham, constable and John Howell, Chatteris, gentleman, revealed three sacks belonging to Mr. Brown. Zachariah Purley, St. Ives, butcher, Edward Hempstead, Somersham, butcher, deposed about the selling of the sheep in St. Ives Market at 34/- to 38/- each.
