TitleFile of correspondence between Paul C. Keeton of Lewiston, Idaho [USA] and genealogist Janet Hammond of Sedgeford [Norfolk] on the subject of Mr. Keeton's ancestors in Northamptonshire and Huntingdon
DescriptionIncludes research notes and correspondence (1972-1978) mostly between Mr. Keeton and Mr. Hammond (but also including some letters from Archivists at the Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire Record Offices) on research commissioned into the Keeton family of Helpston and Northborough [Northants] and, to a lesser extent, the Bryant family of Huntingdon. File also contains a number of original documents sent by Mr. Keeton to Mrs. Hammond to aid her research:
- four letters addressed to Fanny Keeton and brother Tom Bryant of Perry, New York, from her mother Mary and sisters Anne and Emma, with news of family and friends in Huntingdon (1851-1860). These mention the school run by the Bryants in Huntingdon and news of local families named Clark, Margetts, Martin, James, Turner and Heywood and others.
- letter from Louisa Stenhouse (nee Bryant) to her nephew Mr. J. Keeton of Wisconsin [USA] with news of the Bryant family and seeking news of her brother Tom, believed to be in America still (1901)
- portrait photograph of Louisa Stenhouse (born 1851) taken by the Arthur Madison studio in Huntingdon (no date)

(N.B. John Keeton born 1845 Huntingdon, son of William Keeton and Fanny Bryant, apparently went on to fight for the Union in the American Civil War).
