Consideration: £150 paid by 1 and 2 to 5. Recites will of Robert Harris of St Ives, gentleman, dated 15 April 1773; lands in Great Catworth, Hemingford Abbots and Hemingford grey. Recites lease and release dated 16/17 January 1778 between Philip Bull and the said John Tompson. Recites indenture of remise by way of a mortgage dated 12 February 1783 between the said John Tompson and Robert Stafford. Recites that the said John Tompson died a bachelor 5 April 1786, his will naming 1 and 2 as heirs at law. Recites a decretal order made at the high court of chancery 13 November 1789 and brought by John Margetts, John Whetham and John Osborne, simple contract creditors of the said John Tompson. Recites a subsequent order of the same court dated 21 March 1797. The personal estate and the money raised by the sale of the copyhold estate of the said John Tompson is not sufficient to pay his creditors, therefore John Tompson’s real estate mentioned in the mortgage of 1783 and his real estate in Great Catworth to be sold. Recites another report under the said cause dated 18 December 1797. That John Tompson’s freehold estates in Lawrence Pountney Hill, London, and in Hemingford Grey, Hemingford Abbots and Great Catworth are to be advertised for sale in the London Gazette. Recites a subsequent order of the said court dated 9 January 1803 that 5, the purchaser of ‘Lot 2’ for £150, and Peter Cowling, the purchaser of ‘Lot 3’ for £135 should on or before the 24 June pay these amounts into the Bank of the Accountant General of the said court.
