Description1) Edward Tompson and Edward Carrier Smith Tompson. 2) Arthur Proctor Pickering. Recites: i) Grant. i) E. Tompson. ii) E.C.S. Tompson. iii) Pickering. In order to bar all estates in tail male and all other estates tail to which 2) was entitled under the will of Carrier Tompson, deceased, 1) and 2) granted and assigned to 3) certain money land represented by divers sums of consolidated £3% annuities purchased with money paid by the Great Northern Railway Co, and the Eastern Counties Railway Co (now the Great Eastern Railway Co) into the court of chancery in respect of lands of which 2) was tenant in tail male under the above will taken by the companies for the purposes of their railways, and which sums stood to the following credits - £2,148 6s 9d consolidated 3 per cent bank annuities to the credit of “Exparte the Great Northern Railway Co. In the matter of The Great Northern Railway Act 1846 The Account of Robert James Tompson the tenant for life under the Will of Carrier Tompson late of Round Coppice Esq. decd.”, £1,189 5s 2d like annuities to the credit of “Exparte the Great Northern Railway Co. In the matter of The Great Northern Railway (Deviation between London and Grantham) Act 1847 The Account of Robert James Tompson the tenant for life under the Will of Carrier Tompson…”, £4,238 8s 3d like annuities to the credit of “The devised Estate of Carrier Tompson In the Matter of the Great Northern Railway (Additional Powers) Act 1873” and £347 3s 0d like annuities to the credit of “Exparte the Eastern Counties Railway Co. The account of the real estate of Carrier Tompson Esq decd.” - and of which money land Edward Tompson was tenant for life in possession under the will of Carrier Tompson, to hold the same freed and discharged from such estate in tail male or quasi estate in tail male and all other estates tail of 2) upon such trusts as 1) and 2) should jointly direct or appoint. Now 1) direct and appoint that 3) shall stand possessed of the several sums of consolidated £3% bank annuities upon trust to transfer the same into the joint names of 1) as joint tenants and not as tenants in common.
