TitleCopy of the will and codicils of Robert James Tompson
Descriptionof Cowley Peachey in the parish of Cowley, Middlesex, esquire. To his wife, Elizabeth Ann Ashby Tompson, his nephew, William Dalrymple Tompson, Maurice Charles Merttins Swabey of Langley, Buckinghamshire, and the Reverend John Crosier Hilliard of Cowley, Middlesex, all his freehold estates at Woodstone, Huntingdonshire, and all other his real estates upon trust for his eldest son for life and then for his sons in tail male, and in default of such issue, for his second and other sons in tail male, and in default of male issue, for all his daughters and their heirs, and in default of any issue, upon trust for his brother, the Reverend Matthew Carrier Tompson, for life, and then for his sons in tail male, and in default of such issue, upon trust for his own right heirs. To his wife the balance at his bankers, cash in the house and all his carriages, horses, plate, watches, linen, china, and wearing apparel. To the above trustees all the remainder of his estate and effects upon trust to invest upon government or real securities in England or Wales and to pay the dividends to his wife for her life, and after her death, for his life and then to transfer the third part to the children of M.C. Tompson and his wife, Eliza, and as to the remaining two third parts, upon trust to pay the dividends to William Dalrymple Tompson for life and then to transfer the two thirds to the children of W.D. Tompson, and in default of such issue, to transfer the same to the children of M.C. and Eliza Tompson. To his wife during her life her freehold residence and land called Iver House and the freehold house called The George Inn, with the cottages and premises belonging to it, all of which are in the parish of Iver, Buckinghamshire, and all of which he has recently purchased: after her death, these premises will go to his nephew, William Dalrymple Tompson. Appoints the above trustees executrix and executors of his will.
