DescriptionLord Montagu's letter, expressing his apprehension that the British government might give up the right to search, was read to the monthly meeting on Tuesday. If the Council were to interfere in the matter it would be to recommend the cause which His Lordship deprecates. The changes will make it easier to man the Navy and alleviate the attractions of war.
