Description(1) Samuel Coles, Kingsthorpe, Northants, gent. (2) Rt. Hon. Margaret, Countess Dowager of Manchester and Sidney Montague, Middle Temple, London, Esq. youngest son of the said Countess. (1) to (2) for £1,535, to use of (2) for ever. Several closes with apps. in Molesworth called Hunts Closes (180a.). Messuage with apps. within said closes, now in occupation of (1) formerly purchased by George Coles, gent, decd., and (1) of Francis Say, gent. All title of (1) to them or to any lands or tenements in parish of Molesworth. All deeds re them. (1) promises land free of charges except those due to the chief lord of the fee and 1 lease of the premises made to Thomas Stevens for 14 years from last LadyDay at £84 yearly rent. (1) to execute all necessary deeds of further assurance within the next 10 years. Rent of Stevens to be payable during the said term. (2) agree that the Countess of Manchester shall take the rents and profits of the premises during the joint lives of (2) to her use. If the said Sidney Montague survives her, then to him and his heirs for ever free of any trust. If she survives him then Countess to enjoy and dispose the said premises to her and her heirs for ever, in such manner as shall please her Honour. Endorsed: (i) Memo. that on 14 July, 1648 (1) entered into the within-named lands and then made seisin thereof to John Davenport and John Rust, Attorneys, for the said (2), by virtue of their letter of attorney of even date with this indenture and to their use according to effect of said indenture. (ii) Memo that on 29th July, 1648, Thomas Stevens, tenant for divers years to some of the within-named premises, did attorn tenant of the same to (2) . . . (i.e. acknowledge (2) as new landlord) ..... witnessed.
