DescriptionRobert Bretton, customary tenant having since the last court cut down several oaktrees on his lands Landesden and Fullers without licence of the lord, and several lengths growing in the hedgerow on his lands at an inopportune and unseasonable time and has not preserved the growing woods but has allowed them to fall into a great waste his lands are confiscated and handed over to Anne and Judith Bretton next heirs of Geoffrey Bretton, bro. of Robert and father of Anne and Judith, on condition that they pay to Robert Bretton during his life and to his exors. for 2 years after his death 1 annual rent of £4., and that the guardians of their lands make annual repairs to the tenements, barns and stables of 20/- under the supervision of the bailiff and 1 tenant. With power of distraint to said Robert. And at this court custody of the land and hereditaments of the said Anne and Judith was given to John Beck and Katherine his wife mother of said Anne and Judith on condition that John Becke brings them up and governs them well during their minority and returns good account until they come to full age.
