DescriptionJohn Thorowgood, gent, one of the sons of George Thorowgood, on death of his father, by his father's will of 25th Nov. 1647. Farm in Reynold's occupation and said lands at Pitsey with apps. for ever, viz. 6a. customary land, 1 free tenement with 14a. freehold land And 2a. freehold land in Newington called Tirpotts and Cookes. 12a. copyhold land; And all those pieces of customary land containing by estimation 28a. called Hides land with 4 crofts adjoining, containing by estimation 16a. And 1a. of copyhold land called Younges acre als. Fayer acre als. Rayle acre, lying in the towns of Pitsey, North Benflete Bowers and Newington. And 6a. copyhold land called Davies als. Starkwood. And 3a. copyhold land called Colwydon and Newmans. And all that messuage and 30a. copyhold land clled Rayners lying in 6 crofts in Pitsea between the land of John Pagett and Geoffrey Hall on the east and a field called Games Downe on the west with all apps.. to which the late George was admitted at a court of 30 Nov. 1624. John Thorowgood sought permission of the Court to demise the said freehold lands for a term of 21 years. And it was given.
