Description(1) Roberte Cotton, Connington, gent, son and heir of Thomas Cotton, late of Conington, Esq., decd. (2) Joane Cotton, my sister, one of the daus. of the said Thomas C., my father, (1) to (2) One annuity of £20 issuing out of my manor of Connington. For life. £5 penalty to (1) for non-payment. Power of distraint to (2). Proviso that if (2) dies before her marriage or before 3 Feb. 1598 or if (2) or her husband does not on that date quitclaim to (1) all claims of (2) under will of said Thomas C., decd., or under any other deed made by him other than by reason of this grant and the recognizance hereafter mentioned or either of them. Or if (2) before said 3 Feb. sues (1) for any claim. Or if (1) pays (2) on said 3 Feb. £300 according to bond in £500 to pay £300, then said annuity shall cease.
