TitleDeclaration of Trust; Thomas Cotton, Esq., son and heir apparent of Robert Cotton, Kt. and Bart.
DescriptionRecites Indenture of 16 Nov. 1612 by which John Cotton, London, Esq., covenanted that he and all other persons that should stand seised of the Manor of Gidding Abbott with apps. and lands and Advowson of Steeple Gidding Church should be siesed thereof for the use of the said John C. for his life, then to Henry C., decd., and Me, the said Thomas C. for the term of 40 years, then to divers uses. Now (1) the said Thomas C., the younger, being the surviving party of the said indenture, declare that all the estate, terms etc. which I have in the said Manor lands etc. is in trust for the use of the said Thomas C., the elder, and John C. his son. I promise the said Thomas C. the elder that I shall, in discharge of the said trust at the request and cost of the said Thomas C. the elder, make such release of all my interest in the said premises as Thomas C. the elder shall require. Endorsed: Never executed.
