DescriptionCorrespondence re sick rooms in private houses for evacuated children, and for nurses. Ministry of Health circulars - Billeting of expectant mothers, and other correspondence on the same subject. The remainder of this file consists of correspondence relating to individual evacuee children, their billets, letters from the child guidance officer (London County Council) and the child guidance officer (London County Council), letters from the county medical officer to billeting officers, also letters from assistant medical officers. It gives a picture of the problems which confronted the county medical officer, the billeting officers (each county district had its own billeting officer), the householders who took evacuee children into their homes, and the matrons and those running evacuated London nurseries, and the children under five living there.
