DescriptionThese account books contain six monthly balance sheets of the overseers' receipts and payments. Received payments consist of: the balance against the overseers at the end of the last half-year when the same has not been paid to the treasurer of the Union; the balance from the poor rate; funds received in aid of the poor rate; and a total balance in favour of the overseers at the end of this half year. Payments expended consist of: the balance in favour of the overseers at the end of the last half year; contributions paid to the treasurer of the Union; borough rates paid by the overseers; constables expenses; the asylum rate; Borough and County registration; and other smaller payments; and a total expenditure for the year. Each balance sheet is signed by the churchwardens and overseers for the parish.
