DescriptionValuations for all rateable properties and land in the parish of Cambridge were originally conducted by the Assessment Committee of the Overseers of the Poor until the 1929 Local Government Act, which dissolved Boards of Guardians and transferred their powers and responsibilities to Local Authorities. Each property is given a consecutive numerical reference, details of present assessment (not completed;) the name of the occupier; the name of the owner; a description of the property; a location or situation of the property; and a gross estimated rental, rateable value of agricultural land; and a rateable value of buildings by the Overseers of the Poor; and any amendments made by the Assessment Committee. Entries are arranged alphabetically by street name. By 1973 occupiers names are no longer recorded.
