DescriptionThese ledgers are arranged by works to individually named footways and carriageways and savaging works to those roads. There are separate entries for tar spraying works. Each entry contains details of the date, wages, haulage and the value of paving material used such as granite, tar, gravel and shingle, sand, slag and broken stone; the type of work undertaken such as kerb, channelling, sets, portland cement of York flags. There are extra columns for sundries and a column for a total value of works carried out. All entries are indexed alphabetically by name of street. For missing years between 1919-1927 consult the public works ledgers.
