DescriptionThe Sewage disposal committee met monthly to discuss issues relating to the safe disposal of the sewage of the town. Issues discussed included tenders for work contracts; the appointment and payment of officers; commissions for works; reports read from related committees, the surveyor, the engineer, the sewage farm manager, the Medical Officer of Health, and the mechanical engineer; the supply of water; details of specific works and laying of new sewers; complaints about the quality of work; maintenance and services at the pumping station; and the results of water analysis tests.
