Description"History of transfers of the Crane Inn in Shoemaker Row: John Bettis of Trinity Hall to Richard Greene of Cambridge, 1594; Simon Green of Oakington to Christopher Rose of Cambridge, 1640; Rose to John Fowkes of Cambridge, baker, 1683; John and wife Elizabeth to John Woolfe, 1688; from Anne Wolfe (now wife of Thomas Paris), but occupied by William Paymond, to Joseph Pyke and Thomas Mathew, 1721; to Matthew Leach and Obadiah Sully, 1744; Anne’s children Thomas and Bridget Paris inherit and sell to Thomas Sumpter Headly, ironmonger, of Cherry Hinton, 1795; from him to Gilbert Ives in trust for James Gotobed, 1801; Thomas and John Dison to Samuel Clements, from him to John Bones, 1806; Bones to James Nutter, then John Bedell, 1809; Elizabeth Clay Paris and John Ayrton Paris to William Macintosh, 1824; inherited by sons Alexander and James Macintosh and daughter, now Susannah Shortrede,1885.
